The APOLLON ring features a bust of the ancient Greek god sculpted on it. Laurel leaves surround the portrait of Apollo, crowning him with decorative symbols of honor.
Apollo was the Olympian god of prophecy and oracles, music, song and poetry, archery, healing, light, plague and disease, as well as the protection of the young. He is depicted as a handsome, beardless youth with long hair, often associated with attributes such as a wreath or branch of laurel, a bow and quiver of arrows, a raven, and a lyre. In Hellenistic times, especially during the 5th century BCE, he was considered the most beautiful god and became identified with Helios, the personification of the Sun.
