The EYE OF HORUS Necklace features a dazzling marquise-cut aquamarine. The Eye of Horus, also known as the left wedjat eye or udjat eye, symbolizes well-being, healing, and protection in ancient Egyptian religion. This powerful emblem is distinct from the Eye of Ra (the right wedjat eye) and originates from the legendary conflict between the god Horus and his rival Set. In this myth, Set harmed or destroyed one or both of Horus’s eyes, which were later restored with the help of the deity Thoth. Horus then presented the healed eye to his deceased father, Osiris, imbuing it with revitalizing powers that sustained Osiris in the afterlife.
As a result, the Eye of Horus became associated with funerary offerings and the rituals performed for deities in temples. Additionally, it symbolizes various concepts, including the moon, whose cycles of waxing and waning mirror the injury and restoration of the eye.
